As a newbie blogger, it can take some time before you start seeing massive traffic to your blog. Which can be a little discouraging. When I first started my blog I was expecting to hit thousands of views every day but sadly that didn’t happen…at least not right away.

It took a lot of time and energy to get thousands of people to my blog every day! It was so EXHAUSTING! When I first started my blog I knew Pinterest was going to be the quickest way to get traffic but I had no idea how to set up my account. None the less even get people from my Pinterest to my blog.

I was a true newbie blogger…who was burnt out, frustrated, overwhelmed and felt completely lost!

I would watch Youtube videos, read blog posts, and join a ton of blogging Facebook groups. Everything that I watched and read did help a little BUT I was never getting the full puzzle only pieces.

Instead of doing what other top bloggers were doing I did my own thing. One day it just hit me. Yes, I did take bits and pieces that I learned from others but I created my own system and IT WORKED!

When it comes down to your results you have to keep in mind that everyone’s success is at different levels. You can follow some of the same techniques that other big bloggers use but all in all, you have to find what works for you and your blog.

There is 7 basic hacks a newbie blogger must know and these techniques are what any big blogger follows and uses. Let’s dive right in shall we!

1. Get A Business Pinterest account

This is your first step in order to be successful on Pinterest. You need a business Pinterest account. Why? having a business Pinterest account you get certain tools and analytics that you don’t get with a regular personal account.

You want to be able to see your analytics. Seeing your analytics helps you to see what is working and what is not working. Your analytics help you be successful on Pinterest!

2. Keyword your account description

Keywords are where it is at on Pinterest. If you do not have good keywords in your Pinterest profile description, on your board, or pins your pins will have a lower chance of being seen.

See here is the deal. When you first start your Pinterest account Pinterest has NO IDEA who you are. That is a beauty of keywords. They let Pinterest know that your profile, boards, and pins are all about. That way when someone is looking for something in your niche Pinterest will SHOW your pin to that person!

Here is how to find keywords:

Go to Pinterest and type in a word that is in your niche. For this example, we will use the word “cat”.

The boxes that show up are also keywords. Pick 3-4 keywords that are about the topic of your pin and board and add those keywords! You will be amazed at how much your traffic will grow just by adding keywords.

3. Keyword Your Boards

In #2 we went over keywords and how to find keywords. Now that you know that you need to keyword your boards. Not only will doing so will help people find your boards but it lets Pinterest users know what your boards are about!

You don’t want to have only 3-4 keywords in your board description. That looks silly. Say my board is about long hair cats. In my board description, I could say something along the lines of…

This board is all about long hair cats. You will see things such as grooming long hair cat tips, how to breed long hair cats and long hair cat products. Everything to help keep your long hair cat happy and healthy.

The purple text is my keywords. Now when someone types into the search bar “long hair cats” my pins and my boards have a high chance of been seen!

4. Pin To Relevant Boards

This is a big one. Since Pinterest’s new algorithm change Pinterest likes it when you pin relevant pins to relevant boards. That means you can no longer pin a beauty pin to a house board. There is no relevance between the two.

Make sure any of your own personal pins and third-party pins (other people’s pins) are going to relevant boards. Pinterest will start to trust you more which means Pinterest will show your pins and boards to more people.

Which is what we want right!?

5. Smart Home Feed

Have you ever heard of the Smart Home Feed? Don’t worry I had no idea what it was when I first started my blog on Pinterest. But I am glad I know now because it has helped me in building my Pinterest profile and it is important for you to understand how Pinterest works.

The Smart Home Feed is broken up into three parts.

  • Repins
  • Related Pins
  • and Interest pins

Each of these is added to three different pools.

  • Following Pool
  • Related Pool
  • and Interest Pool

The top portion consists of the people you are following repins. The related pin section consists of pins that are related to what you are interested in. The Interests pins section is similar to the related pin section.

Basically, if you are interested in yoga, Pinterest will show you other topics that relate to your interest. Since you are interested in yoga you might also see diet pins or different yoga routines.

That is the Smart Home Feed. Pinterest is making a better user experience with their Smart Home Feed algorithm.

6. Use A Pin Scheduler Such As Tailwind

Pin schedulers are where it is at! There is no way my Pinterest profile and traffic could have grown as fast as it did without a pin scheduler like Tailwind. Pinterest likes consistency. The more you are active on Pinterest pinning, saving, repinning and such the more Pinterest will like you!

Now if you are like me you don’t have all the time in the word to be pinning on Pinterest every day. Getting a pin scheduler system like Tailwind will save you a TON of time and get you a TON of traffic!

Here is my video walkthrough of Tailwind! I have great news for you! If you sign up for Tailwind you get your first 100 pins for FREE! If I were you I could check it out!

7. Join High-Quality Group Boards

Group board are very powerful. They help your pins be seen by more people since other bloggers in your niche may save your pins which means more eyes are seeing your pin! When looking for high-quality group boards make sure you are join boards that have more followers then you have.

The best way to find group boards is by looking at big bloggers on in your niche and see what group boards they are apart of. This is the quickest method I use to get on to some amazing group boards!

These 7 hacks are what helped propel my blog and Pinterest account forward. I wish I would have known these when I first started. But I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the hassle and stress I went through in the beginning. I grew my Pinterest account to 2.5 Million monthly views a month in just 7 months!

She even asked her mom for “a crying and pooping baby doll” for Christmas when she was just 6 years old. Certain events took place to where Kara was diagnosed with Endometriosis, and doctors told her that having her own children might be impossible. She spent years trying to figure out her health by trying everything under the sun that you can think of. It wasn’t until a few years after she was married that both she and her husband figured it out, and they were blessed with their first baby girl!
