traveling can become expensive between airfare, hotels, food, and sightseeing. Taking family vacations builds memories that last a lifetime, but, it isn’t always the easiest to travel when you have a tight budget.

You don’t need to leave your state or country to go traveling. Often when people are traveling they are going to a new state or out of the country but, you don’t need to break the bank to travel.

There are many ways you can travel with your family on a small budget. You just have to get a little creative and do your research.

Here are some tips and tricks you can apply when planning your next family vacation.

Travel Cards

Travel credit cards and a great way to help save on flights. There are great deals you can find when looking to apply for travel cards. It may get a little overwhelming with which card you should apply for to get the best deal.

Here are some tips on which travels cards are the best:

Tip 1- Get cards that offer 30,000 bonus points or above.

Most cards offer bonus points once you have spent either $1000 or more within the first three months. Which is not hard to achieve.

Simply use your card for gas, groceries, and date night. Most cards when you spend $1 dollar on goods you get one point so, spend $100 dollars on your groceries you will get 100 points.

Tip 2 – Use your travel cards like your debit cards.

Using your travel credit card like your debit card makes it easier to pay off. Once you use your credit card to pay for gas make a payment from your debit card to your credit card to pay off how much you spent on gas.

This way you can justify paying what you would have normally paid with your debit card.

Tip 3 – Do your research

Find the best travel card that will work for you. Start off simple, you don’t need to go for the best cards right at first. Start with something you can manage and then get find better cards and deals as you go.

Shop for flights on a Tuesday

Airfare is already expensive enough and finding the best discounts and times on when to book flights is a way to help save some extra bucks. Most U.S. airline release weekly airfare

sales early Tuesday morning until mid-afternoon. Other airfare will match what the weekly sale is so now shoppers will have the most deals to choose from.

Kara is the founder of the Dollar Mommy Club and a full-momma and who loves every minute of it. Ever since she was a little girl (around two years old actually) she has wanted a baby of her own. She even asked her mom for “a crying and pooping baby doll” for Christmas when she was just 6 years old. Certain events took place to where Kara was diagnosed with Endometriosis, and doctors told her that having her own children might be impossible. She spent years trying to figure out her health by trying everything under the sun that you can think of. It wasn’t until a few years after she was married that both she and her husband figured it out, and they were blessed with their first baby girl! When Kara isn’t managing the Dollar Mommy Club and it’s wonderful members and contributors, she enjoys spending time with family, binge-watching The Office on Netflix, and creating art.
